MSI inauguró la familia de motherboards Z77 GAMING como una nueva categoría de productos que cumplen con los requisitos de usuarios que buscan la mejor experiencia de juego. Un poco más tarde, el mismo ADN estuvo presente con la plataforma Intel 8-Series basada en procesadores Intel de 4ta generación "Haswell". Ampliando la variedad de modelos para toda clase de plataformas, el fabricante presenta la siguiente integrante Z87M GAMING que se presenta como la primera con factor de forma mATX.


En éstos momentos no hay detalles concretos sobre sus especificaciones, únicamente se ha mencionado los atributos que la vuelven una opción másinteresante para gamers. Por defecto, la motherboard está fabricada con componentes de grado militar que han superado siete pruebas del estándar MIL-STND-810G. También cuenta con la tecnología OC Genie 4 que ahora cuenta con etapas de overclocking, interfaz de monitoreo gráfico Click BIOS 5, y el software Control Center que combina monitereo, personalización y control remoto.

En cuanto a características adicionales cuenta con un chip de red Killer que se traduce en un mayor rendimiento en transmisión de datos. Por otra parte el audio cuenta con tecnología mejorada Audio Boost que entrega efectos de sonido de grado profesional. Adicionalmente, el circuito de audio se encuentra independiente del resto de componentes de la motherboard para asegurar audio más puro y libre de ruido. Three New Value-Oriented Gigabyte Motherboards Incoming

A trio of new value-oriented motherboards from Gigabyte have been unveiled.

We've already reported on a number of motherboards that are ready for the upcoming Intel 4th generation processors. The motherboards in question are the B85M-D3H, the Z87-D3HP, and the Z87-UD3H. All three motherboards are value-oriented boards.

It is a simple Micro-ATX board, with a simple 4-phase power delivery VRM design, four DDR3 DIMM slots, one PCIe x16 3.0 slot, a PCIe x4 2.0 slot (disguised as an x16 slot), and two legacy PCI ports. Moreover, the board features four SATA3 ports and two SATA2 ports, as well as a total of four USB 3.0 ports, two of which are on the rear I/O. Other rear I/O connectivity is handled by a DVI port, an HDMI port, a VGA port, Gigabit Ethernet, a handful of USB 2.0 ports and 7.1 HD analog audio.

It features the same 4-phase VRM design, expansion slots (plus two PCIe 2.0 x1 slots), and memory DIMM banks. External connectivity is taken care of by a DVI port, HDMI port, VGA port, six USB 3.0 ports, 7.1 channel HD analog audio jacks,optical TOSLINK, and Gigabit Ethernet.

It features an 8-phase VRM design, four DIMM slots, two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot disguised as an x16 slot, and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. SATA connectivity is taken care of by eight SATA3 ports. External connectivity is managed through a DVI port, an HDMI port, a VGA port, six USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, channel HD analog audio jacks, optical TOSLINK, two eSATA ports and Gigabit Ethernet.

sus has announced its TUF Series Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 motherboard, which the comapny claims is one of the world’s first AMD-based motherboard to feature PCI Express 3.0 for use with next generation high performance graphics cards. It supports up to three DirectX 11 graphics cards with 28nm GPU technology and can be used through Nvidia SLI or AMD CrossFireX to create desktop PCs.

As per the press release, the Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 also features the Asus TUF Series thermal design for heat removal. The motherboard is backed by a five-year warranty.

The company claims that the Sabertooth 990FX/GEN3 R2.0 meets strict TUF Series quality assurance standards, which consist of multiple-stage military and server-grade tests. TUF-certified alloy chokes, together with solid state capacitors and MOSFETs, offers reliability even when the motherboard is subjected to intense use. Four DIMM slots support up to 32GB DDR3 memory at frequencies up to 2400MHz, aided by an eight-layered PCB that promotes faster memory performance while ensuring stability and compatibility with improved cross-component signal quality. Both the Northbridge and Southbridge use dual-heatpipe heatsinks with CeraM!X micro-ridged coating that increases the effective heat dissipation surface area by around 50 percent.

The motherboard also features TUF Thermal Radar, which uses multiple heat sensors across the motherboard for real time temperature monitoring. Independent and automatic fan speed control then allows components to be cooled individually for maximum efficiency and operating stability.

Back in December, Asus had announced its Radeon HD 8000M series of GPUs. The first of these, known as the Radeon HD 8555M, is shipping inside the Asus Vivobook U38DT. The GPUs will be making their presence felt in 2013

AMD has also revealed some promises about the GPU, which show the Radeon 8800M destroying Nvidia's Geforce 650M in benchmarks. The company hasn't released any more information though, such as power consumption.

All four chips in the series—the 8500M, 8600M, 8700M and the 8800M—contain AMD's latest 28nm Graphics Core Next architecture. This gives them benefits when it comes to DirectX 11.1. The GPUs are also set to benefit from power saving features like ZeroCore, which cuts off power to unused cores, and PowerTune, which boosts clock speed to use untapped power.

Back in November, AMD had announced its FirePro GPU workstations in India. According to AMD, the FirePro W9000 GPU features incredible compute and increased memory bandwidth and offers better multi-display support performance than the competing solution. AMD has also launched the AMD FirePro W8000, W7000 and W5000 workstation graphics cards, which are all built on the AMD Graphics Core Next Architecture, and designed to balance compute and 3D workloads efficiently for computer-aided design and engineering, and for media and entertainment professionals.
